At Synergy Marine Group, life at Synergy is defined by opportunity, mentorship and growth. Few stories capture this better than that of Eva Bergant, whose path from Slovenia to Hamburg reflects both personal dedication and the dynamic environment of modern ship management.

With a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a passion for the sea, Eva began her maritime career with a German tanker owner, gaining valuable experience in technical, marine and safety functions, including time at sea. Her academic thesis on fuel oil optimisation for tankers further strengthened her interest in sustainable operations.

In 2021, Eva joined Synergy Germany, then a small team focused primarily on bulk carriers. Within a year, she played a key role in transforming the office into a fully fledged tanker management hub, where she now oversees vessels in a versatile operations role. From safety compliance and commercial management to crew engagement and stakeholder collaboration, Eva thrives on the challenges of ship management.

Beyond her operational role, Eva contributes to the wider maritime community as an active member of WISTA Germany, a network supporting women in shipping and maritime leadership. Reflecting on her journey, she highlights how Synergy’s culture of openness and support from senior mentors has helped her develop patience, resilience and professional confidence.

“Eva has contributed with energy, professionalism and commitment, becoming an integral part of Synergy Germany’s culture and our growth as a tanker management hub,” says Captain Ravinder Singh Kohli (Ravi), Managing Director of Synergy Germany. Ravi himself began as Synergy’s first tanker superintendent in 2009 and today leads the Hamburg office, where tanker expertise runs deep.

Eva’s story embodies life at Synergy, where people, teamwork and shared purpose create an environment for talent to flourish, while delivering safe, efficient and sustainable ship management for our global customers.
